Join our team to help strengthen Montgomery County’s public behavioral health services and supports provided to families and youth. We survey parents, caregivers, and youth about accessibility, appropriateness, effectiveness, and overall satisfaction with services. These surveys are a requirement under Pennsylvania HealthChoices to assure our public behavioral health service array meets the needs of families and youth.
The primary function of the Interviewer position is to support the FST during data collection and project planning. Interviewers conduct interviews (surveys) with youth aged 14 and/or their parents/caregivers about their experience navigating behavioral health services through PA HealthChoices in Montgomery County. This position also provides administrative support, utilizing and maintaining all paper and electronic systems, including the online survey system, Excel databases, email, calendaring, and all other authorized programs and other administrative support services. Other tasks may be assigned as needed. This position supports system advocacy by helping to increase family and youth input into the delivery of children’s mental health services. This position contributes to Montgomery County’s quality improvement of services. Therefore, collaboration with other teams within HopeWorx, as well as others within the community, is essential to the function of the FST program.
Qualifications:
This is a peer position, and it is a requirement that candidates have personal lived experience using mental/behavioral health services, either as a parent/primary caregiver of a child receiving services, or as a youth/ young adult who used the services themselves as a child or adolescent. Candidates will not be considered if they do not possess this requirement.
· High School diploma required.
· Strong telephone interviewing skills and ability to follow survey guides.
· Excellent people/social skills including the commitment to treating all families and youth with dignity and respect.
· Ability to interpret findings from quantitative and qualitative data preferred.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Strong computer skills, proficient in Word, Excel, e-mail, and experience with PowerPoint.
· Experience with Survey Monkey and/or Canva encouraged, but not required.
· Ability to work independently, across various projects simultaneously to meet inflexible deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude.
· Ability to maintain private, HIPAA compliant workspace apart from household distractions.
· Child Abuse and Criminal Background Clearances are required.
· Knowledge of the children’s behavioral health services and child-serving systems.
· Knowledge of Systems of Care Principals and Trauma Informed Care is preferred.
· A valid Driver’s license and personal vehicle is optional.
· Respectful of and compassionate toward other people’s thoughts, behaviors, ideas, and needs.
· Self-aware and able to take responsibility for own mistakes, successes, weaknesses, and strengths, as well as being able and willing to seek support when needed.
· Optimistic and confident in approach and outlook. Curious about and open to all perspectives, with a focus on keeping up to date with information about peer support and development in the broader movement.
