We are seeking a talented and ambitious Lead Bartender to join our team of driven and enthusiastic hospitality professionals. H&F Burger and Hop’s Chicken sit in the heart of Midtown at Ponce City Market in a casual and upbeat space, serving delicious food and beverage with gracious hospitality each and every day. 

At our restaurants, we know how delicious burgers and chicken can be when cooked to the highest standard, served on freshly baked bread, with an ice-cold Coca Cola or dram of whisk(e)y. What is the Job? 

As Lead Bartender, you will work closely with the Managers and FOH team to ensure beverage quality and a thorough understanding of all beverage products available. You will assist in the ideation of seasonal cocktails, leading informative lineups, and support the managers in beverage ordering and inventory. You will create a welcoming and memorable experience by serving guests delicious and well-executed beverages and providing cocktail inspiration and historical insight. You are responsible for ensuring consistency of product by following our carefully tailored recipes.

What are the responsibilities?

• Assists in inventory, beverage ordering, pricing, and selection of products
• Supervises all aspects of the bar including quality, presentation, ticket times, allergies, and special requests
• Maintain a working knowledge of all recipes, products and production procedures
• Set up and maintain a clean, organized bar according to brand standards; restocks all items as needed throughout shift
• Work as a team player, helping your fellow team with guest interactions and bar duties to contribute to a positive working environment
• Possess the ability to positively and proactively handle guest concerns
• Able to prioritize multiple tasks and openly communicate with your manager and fellow service team about next steps
• Consistent adherence to the uniform policy
• Reports for duty on time and manages one’s shift, communicating with the management team when leaving their station for breaks or family meal

What are the requirements? 

• Must be 21 years of age or older 

• 3 years of bartending experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role 

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook 365, and Excel 

• Able to move and/or lift heavier product  

• Able to stand for long periods of time; occasionally kneel, bend, and crouch as required to reach items at varying height levels  

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment calmly and effectively
