Qualifications as a Recreation Leader

Prepare recreational programs and activities, both in a group setting and individual setting, to meet the functional levels, needs, and interests of residents
Maintain records of residents’ attendance and participation in activities
Coordinate activities with other departments as necessary
Complete assessments, care plans, and appropriate documentation as needed
Follow care plans in providing daily activities for residents
Encourage residents to take part in personal development
Promote physical, social, and mental well-being of residents
High school diploma or its equivalent
Previous experience in long-term care
Willingness and patience to work with residents in long-term care facility.
Dementia experience preferred
