We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Custodian to join our team at Hopkins County School District. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our school facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine custodial activities, including sweeping, mopping, waxing, and polishing floors, as well as vacuuming rugs and carpets in classrooms, offices, and other work areas.
- Clean classrooms, restrooms, showers, locker rooms, shops, cafeteria, offices, and related facilities, including gymnasiums, tables, chairs, and floors.
- Clean and disinfect drinking fountains, sinks, toilets, showers, and urinals, as well as mirrors, tile, and windows.
- Report safety, sanitary, and fire hazards to the appropriate authority, as well as recommend maintenance repairs and maintain security of buildings.
- Perform minor non-technical repairs and operate cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, floor strippers, buffers, polishes, carpet shampooers, scrubbers, high-pressure sprayers, manual and power sweepers, and power blowers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
- Familiarity with cleaning materials, equipment, and methods.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
