What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Hopkins Health & Wellness Center?
Hopkins Health & Wellness Center seeks a part-time Medical Assistant to assist our skilled nurse practitioners and other providers. This job has the potential to develop into a full-time position. We are a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary clinic, providing medical, physical therapy, chiropractic, and massage services. Some of the special services we offer in our Medical department include:
· Regenerative Medicine (PRP)
· Hyaluronic Acid injections
· B12 injections
· Scrambler Therapy
· Other non-opioid pain management treatment
We are looking for a Medical Assistant with experience in:
· Phlebotomy (primarily blood collection for PRP procedures)
· Taking patient medical history, medications, allergies, vital signs, prepping exam rooms, and assisting with other forms and questionnaires
· Familiarity with medical documentation and note-taking, as well as reviewing and uploading patient documents into the EHR. We currently use NextGen software in our medical department.
- Assistance with x-rays. It is not necessary to be an x-ray technician for this roll, but having a Limited Scope X-ray Certification or any background with X-rays is a bonus.
· Assistance with injections and nutritional IV therapy.
· Manage inventory of equipment and supplies in the medical department
· Assist with prior authorization and coverage verification.
· Assist with patient referrals, orders, prescriptions, and other interoffice communications.
· Triage messages for the medical department.
Skills and duties necessary include:
· Ability to multi-task and be detail-oriented.
· Ability to communicate and interact effectively with the patients, staff and healthcare providers.
· Answer phones, schedule appointments, take payments.
