Position Summary
Hopkins | Lacy, the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, (MEP) Division of Branch, is searching for a skilled, team-oriented Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing Superintendent to join our well-established, growing company. This position works closely with the Superintendent to ensure success of the project.
Duties / Responsibilities
The Contract
- Supervises completion of the MEP Portions of the project in accordance with all project contract documents, plans and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with all building codes and local ordinances. Confirms permit requirements, and documents inspections in accordance with company and regulatory guidelines.
- Becomes thoroughly familiar with project contract documents, plans, specifications, subcontracts, purchase orders, shop drawings, key dates (milestones, substantial completion and completion), liquidated damages and all other documents related to the project.
- Inspects job site and documents any preexisting conditions (Photographs or videos if deemed necessary).
- Identifies, measures, and reports to Superintendent MEP work changes as they pertain to the contract documents. Participates in pricing of changed / additional work. Documents, or delegates documentation, of all additional work performed via daily reports / Superintendent’s diaries.

Supervisory Responsibility
Directly supervises three to eight employees and consultants involved in each project. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position which will typically involve 40 hours a week. Due to the nature of the job, the employee must be available on-call early / late hours to deal with delays, bad weather and emergencies at the job site.
