Nurse Practitioner Job Description
Hopkins Medical Association operates in multiple locations providing, primary health, urgent, substance use and aesthetic treatments. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping people and prefers a variety of approaches to health.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide initial evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing support for individuals with complex addiction and substance related primary health conditions.
- Complete full and appropriate documentation to support professional billing for services.
- Provide education regarding illness and prognosis to assist with clarification of patient and family goals of care and support development of a comprehensive care plan.
- Interpreting test results to diagnosis any health issues and provide feedback to patients.
- Educating and counseling patients regarding medication compliance.
- Work with an interdisciplinary team of professionals to administer the best care for those patients that need not only medical therapy but behavioral health services as well.
- Patient follow-up visits regarding patients' progress with medication and/or treatment.
- Contacts patient's PCP and/or specialist(s) when necessary.
- Evaluates lab results and provides consultation with APPs regarding abnormal results.
- Reviews and oversees progress and treatment plans, including making any adjustments.
- Ability to start an IV and administer IV medications and IV fluids
- Maintains required licensure, active DEA licensure, certifications and CME credits.
- Mentor and conduct professional development activities with staff in medical subjects relevant to the patient’s treatment.
- Participate in all trainings as required by federal, state, local, and accrediting agencies and comply with all accrediting, federal, state, and local regulatory agency requirements.
- Perform medical services within the scope of his/her education, training, and expertise.
- Ensure implementation of medical quality health standard for both patients and employees.
- Provide medical input into overall program philosophy, treatment services, and patient care.
- Attend weekly treatment team meetings.
· Collaborate with other team members to ensure a seamless patient experience
· Conduct patient consultations to understand their aesthetic goals and concerns
· Perform a variety of aesthetic procedures including injectables (Botox, dermal fillers), laser treatments, and skin rejuvenation therapies. NP would also manage wellness / weight loss program.
· Provide pre- and post-procedure care instructions to patients
· You will be responsible for administering aesthetic treatments to patients. These treatments can include anything from Botox injections and chemical peels to laser hair removal and CO2 laser. You must be well versed in the science behind these procedures, as well as their proper application.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience providing addiction medicine services for both medically and socially complex populations preferred
- Experience with providing primary health medicine preferred.
· Experience with injectables (Botox/Filler) preferred
- Ability to develop relationships with network and community physicians and other providers and staff.
- Ability to work on-site and/or telehealth with diverse care teams in a variety of settings at the company’s discretion.
- Effective time management and communication skills.
- Computer literate and experience with Electronic Medical Records.
- Minimum 2 years of healthcare experience preferred.
- Master’s degree or equivalent
- Active state licensure (FNP/APRN/CNP/PMHNP/PA-C)
- D.E.A licensure required Current, active DEA licensure and prescriptive authority in state(s) where applicable.
