Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive physical examinations on patients
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as laboratory and imaging studies
- Prescribe medications and other treatments
- Provide counseling and education to patients on various health topics, including family planning, infant care, and infection control
- Perform procedures such as specimen collection processing, gastric lavage, and airway management
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic health record systems like eClinicalWorks
Requirements:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice
- Master's degree in Nursing or related field
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the appropriate specialty area (e.g., Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner)
- Knowledge of psychopharmacology and ability to prescribe medications appropriately
- Strong clinical skills with experience in primary care or specialty area
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
