Job Duties : Come be an integral part of building our Spanish Dual Language Immersion program in Hopkins!
Teach the core standard Minnesota classes (including math, social studies, science) in addition to Spanish Language; develop lesson plans and instructional materials; provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil; teach district-approved curriculum; translate lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences; establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere; evaluate pupils' academic and social growth, maintain appropriate records and in a timely fashion prepare progress reports; communicate this information regularly with parents; identify pupil needs and make appropriate referrals and develop strategies for individual education plans; maintain a professional day, as defined by building / and contract; communicate regularly with parents outside normal classroom day by means of newsletters, notes, phone calls, e-mails, conferences, etc.; may plan and coordinate the work of Assurance of Mastery paraprofessionals and / or Student Support Paraprofessionals and volunteers in the classroom and on field trips; may provide input to the goal-setting process for paraprofessionals; maintain and improve professional skills by participating in building and department meetings, formal coursework, workshops and seminars in an effort to stay current with best teaching practices; participate in a personal professional goal-setting process on a regular basis; and teach Spanish in an immersion setting.
Requirements : BA Degree in Education, or a related field . Valid Minnesota Teaching License or ability to obtain licensure; and Fluency in Spanish .

Salary : Follows the HEA Union Contract
