What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barge Loader position at Hopkinsville Elevator Company, Inc?
· Responsible for the proper loading of barges at CRT I & II.
· Responsible for the safety of employees engaged in helping load barges, moving the barges or working on the equipment out on the river making sure they are always wearing life preserving equipment.
· Responsible for the maintenance of the conveyors to the barge site, to include the proper lubrication of equipment, fixing any grain leaks on the conveyors, and replacing or assisting in replacing of worn-out parts.
· Responsible for ensuring that the barge loading equipment is in good safe condition. This includes having good lines (ropes) and cables on hand, that the winch gears are kept lubricated and the loading spout is in good condition.
· Keeps facility manager advised of any needs as far as equipment or assistance, that are needed.
· Keeps all customer and company information confidential as described in the Confidentiality Agreement.
· Keeps all tools and equipment picked up and put in proper place.
· Executes special assignments as requested by the assistant or facility manager.
· Performs such other duties as may be required in the day-to-day operation of the division.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
