Program Director
Job Description
The Program Director develops, organizes, implements, and oversees high quality youth development and family programs including sports leagues for youth and adults, summer & holiday camps, and teen to senior programs to foster growth, enrichment, and development.
This position will lead, supervise, and evaluate staff and volunteers, including hiring, training, and maintaining staff/child ratios.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong customer service skills, ability to respond to multiple questions via phone, email, and in- person.
- Ability to problem solve and resolve conflict.
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of social media platforms.
- Team oriented.
- Flexibility, resourcefulness, high energy, and ability to adapt to changing needs.
- Organization and time management skills necessary to meet deadlines.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- Ability to direct programs through supervision of staff and volunteers.
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Protection training required within the first 30 days.
Essential Functions
- Develops, plans, implements, instructs, and oversees daily operation and growth of all programs and events for children, teens, adults, families, and seniors.
- Oversees gym usage and programming to serve members through open gym times, various age appropriate sport and enrichment programs.
- Responsible for planning, scheduling, and supervision of summer and holiday camps.
- Responsible for acquiring adequate sponsorships of sports leagues and outreach programs.
- Identify and implement new programs.
- Coordinates the use of YMCA facilities for rentals, program activities, and events.
- Develops and monitors program budgets to meet fiscal objectives.
- Assures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as they relate to program areas.
- Assists with YMCA annual campaign fundraising, activities, and special events.
- Other duties as assigned by Executive Director to assist in the overall successful operation of the
- YMCA.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
