Primary Function/Department: Maintenance
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Check Chemicals multiple times a day
· Picks up and removes trash at designated area.
· Empties trash and recycling containers.
· Pull or trim weeds
· · Cuts and removes trees as needed.
· Applies fertilizer, pesticides, and herbicides as directed.
· Pressure Washing
· Pool cleaning and maintaining
· Performs routine maintenance on power equipment.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
· Maintains grounds
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
· Ability to operate various types of power equipment including lawnmowers, trimmers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, and other landscaping equipment.
· Ability to use hand tools required for landscaping.
· Ability to follow instructions and complete assignments.
· Extensive knowledge of landscaping techniques and processes.
· Excellent time management skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:
· High school diploma or GED
· Three or more years of experience in maintencance or closely related field.
· CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required within 30 days of hire.
· Child protection training upon hiring.
· Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance-related areas.
· Ability and current license to drive with record that meets YMCA standards.
· Excellent attention to detail.
· Familiarity with personal computers helpful.
· Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
· Reliable transportation and flexibility of schedule to support various weather conditions.

· The work is performed both indoors and out, and may require travel to various locations.
· While performing the duties of this job the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
· Frequent exposure to dust and fumes is possible and use of cleaning equipment and chemicals is required.
