Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage existing and potential suppliers/service providers
- Ensure timely acquisition of products and services from known sources of supply
- Actively source new products and alternate sources
- Comply with purchasing policies and procedures as well as suggest improvements as experience provides
- Negotiate, place, and maintain purchase orders
- Maintain purchase order pricing database
- Resolve issues in the areas of purchase order accuracy and completeness, receiving, and invoicing variances
- Manage and update data in MRP system - Set up and maintain material, supplier, and planning system data (Lead times/pricing and purchasing parameter updates)
- Represent HOPPE North America when interfacing with other companies. This includes conducting meetings with suppliers, communicating material specifications, negotiating pricing, delivery commitments, and resolving quality issues.
- Participate and/or coordinate activities with other functional areas such as engineering, product management, quality, and accounting, to achieve the highest levels of customer service.
- Identify and drive activities to improve the supply chain of HOPPE North America
- Plan, schedule and monitor sub-contracted goods and services to meet production requirements
- Support production planning activities and materials management
Qualifications
- Minimum five years direct related experience
- Experience with supplier negotiation and conflict resolution
- Desire to manage projects and work in a team setting
- Demonstrated understanding of MRP, inventory and production principles
- Ability to multi-task - Must be organized and able to balance multiple priorities appropriately
- Demonstrate logical thinking and creative problem solving abilities
- Detail oriented, self-motivated, patient, and diligent
- Ability to influence peers and lead cross functional teams
- Proven results in driving supplier improvement and cost reduction programs
- Intermediate user of Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Dynamics AX and/or Dynamics365 experience a plus
