Job Description:
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Youth Sports Coaches to join our team for a seasonal part-time role. As a Youth Sports Coach, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring young athletes in various sports programs, including Football, Basketball, Baseball/T-Ball, Soccer, and potentially Volleyball. The role also includes facilitating a "Sports Sampler" program, which offers kids a mix of all the above sports. This position is ideal for someone passionate about working with children and fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love for sports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coach youth participants in sports programs such as Football, Basketball, Baseball/T-Ball, Soccer, and potentially Volleyball.
- Instruct children of varying skill levels, ensuring they learn the fundamentals of each sport in a fun, engaging, and safe environment.
- Provide positive reinforcement, encouraging sportsmanship, teamwork, and healthy competition.
- Develop age-appropriate drills, activities, and games that enhance skills and understanding of the sports.
- Ensure safety protocols are always followed, both during practice and games.
- Communicate with parents, providing updates on their child's progress and any important announcements.
- Maintain a high level of energy and enthusiasm during practices and events.
- Assist with organizing and setting up sports equipment for practices and games.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Must pass a background check.
- Previous experience working with children in a sports or recreational setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of and passion for various sports (Football, Basketball, Baseball/T-Ball, Soccer, Volleyball) is essential.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with children, parents, and staff.
- Positive attitude with a focus on providing a fun, inclusive, and educational environment for youth athletes.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by the program schedule.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is a plus, but not required.
Schedule:
- Part-time, seasonal role from June- August with flexibility in scheduling.
- Hours may vary based on the specific sports program and practice schedules.
