Job Title : Director of Finance

Job Purpose

The Director of Finance is a key leader responsible for overseeing all financial activities within the organization. This role directs financial planning, budgeting, and reporting while ensuring accuracy in product costing and asset valuation. As a strategic partner, the Director of Finance collaborates with leadership to assess the financial impact of company objectives and long-term planning.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Strategy (25%)

Serve as a member of the Top Management Team (TMT) , leading financial operations, including accounting, analysis, and banking.
Evaluate financial implications of acquisitions, new ventures, and capital expenditures.

Accounting Operations & Compliance (25%)

Direct the Accounting Department, overseeing cash management, accounts receivable / payable, journal entries, and purchasing.

Develop and implement policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance financial efficiency and compliance.

Cost Analysis & Financial Oversight (15%)

Manage the standard cost system, including overhead rate reviews and variance analysis.

Continuously monitor and improve cost structures to optimize financial performance.

Financial Reporting & Board Presentations (10%)

Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for all organizational levels.

Deliver financial insights and education to leadership and prepare board presentations.

Budgeting & Forecasting (10%)

Lead the annual budget development process, ensuring cross-functional collaboration and alignment with strategic goals.

Tax & Regulatory Compliance (5%)

Oversee tax filings, regulatory reports, and compliance requirements while identifying tax optimization strategies.

Asset Management (5%)

Manage asset depreciation schedules and ensure accurate financial tracking.

Stakeholder & Relationship Management (5%)

Maintain strong relationships with auditors, bankers, creditors, and corporate legal counsel.

Additional Duties

Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

Knowledge & Abilities

Advanced accounting expertise with a strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and risk management.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP, CRM, and other financial systems.

Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements.

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to mentor and guide the finance team.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).

CMA or CPA certification (preferred).

7 years of progressive leadership in financial management.

5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (required).

Work Environment

Office setting within a manufacturing environment.

Minimal travel required.
