Role Summary:
The Business and Consumer Loan Processing Manager is responsible for the leadership and overall management of the Bank's loan processing functions and their supporting infrastructure. This role develops, implements and monitors loan processing policies, ensures processing procedures and practices are sound and in compliance with regulations; serves as foundation for the coordination of loan file quality.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Management
- Promotes an atmosphere which fosters our Vision, Virtues and Mission to the employees, customers and community.
- Manages, develops and directs the loan processing functions, including commercial and consumer loan types.
- Provides supervision and support to all assigned areas of department operations, including but not limited to, loan processing. Oversees activities of department support personnel.
- Develops and implements commercial/consumer processing practices to promote efficiency and compliance.
- Perform personnel actions including performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and interviewing candidates for employment; supervise the daily activities of the department and ensure the Onboarding Policy is followed for new hires by providing continuous feedback.
- Directs loan review activities to maintain complete and organized files. Provides guidance in the interpretation of data.
- Support the needs of lenders to maximize loan growth and customer satisfaction, by providing timely and accurate loan documentation.
- Oversees regulatory compliance with Federal and state regulations for the Bank. Submits accurate and timely reports as required by the Bank's senior management, board and regulatory agencies.
- Supports Horicon Bank's sales function by providing exceptional service to internal and external customers.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares, reviews, and modifies policy and product strategies for the loan processing segment of Horicon Bank. Recommends policy and procedural changes as needed.
- Review information provided by loan coordinator and/or lender and edit processor input to ensure the preparation of accurate and complete loan document packages
- Edit loan new, renewal and addendum input on core system.
- Ensures that flood insurance policies are being followed to avoid poor exam rating and monetary fines.
- Ensures all required data is collected for General Reporting, including but not limited to HMDA and CRA.
- Performs other duties as may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.
- Updates knowledge and develops professionally on a continuing basis. Participates in internal and external training and development opportunities as required.
- Represents the Bank in various community, civic and community reinvestment functions to further enhance the Bank's image.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or other related field preferred.
- Minimum of fifteen years' experience in bank loan processing required. Work history must include extensive background in loan processing, managing people, and interpretation of bank related legal requirements and documentation.
- Requires the ability to plan and prioritize work; make presentations to groups (employees, management, and public); resolve conflicts; and work effectively under pressure and deadlines.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a pleasant office environment with minimal chance for personal injury. Frequent mental concentration is necessary for listening and responding to various situations. Must be able to lift and move up to 20 pounds unassisted. Some twisting, bending, and turning may be required. Work hours are generally during normal business hours and average 45 hours a week. Position requires some unscheduled evening and weekend work. Extensive travel via personal automobile to branch locations is expected. Occasional out-of-town and overnight business travel may be required.
