Hours: Full-time – 37.5 hours/week (M-F, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm)

$2500 Sign-on Bonus
Position Summary
Horizon Behavioral Health participates in the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) program. The program provides housing support for individuals with serious mental illness who are homeless as defined by DBHDS – individuals exiting a state psychiatric facility, individuals with serious mental illness released from jail/prison, and individuals who may be able to increase their independence by moving from an assisted living facility to permanent supportive housing.
The PSH Program Assistant will provide administrative support for the Permanent Supportive Housing Program. Responsibilities include processing referrals, completion of purchase and check requests, and data collection, data entry, and other assigned administrative support duties.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma / GED
- Two (2) years of relevant administrative support experience.

- Knowledge of customer service techniques and best practices. Ability to identify customer needs and respond with appropriate customer service driven actions.
- Excellent computer skills, including demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to listen attentively.
- Ability to promote positive, collaborative, and professional working relations among co-workers and representatives in the community.
- Strong verbal communication skills with excellent customer service interactions.
- Demonstrated ability to use electronic health record software.
- Ability to work independently as well as work as a team member.
- Ability to respond effectively to changes in the work environment in a positive and professional manner.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and confidential client information based on the knowledge of HIPAA, client rights, and confidentiality regulations.
- Ability to drive and possess a valid Virginia driver’s license. May be required to travel to different Horizon worksites during the day based on operational needs or provide administrative support at other locations. Regular attendance at training and Horizon meetings may require travel to a variety of Horizon sites.
- Ability to use a computer to address information and input/manage data.
- Ability to work modified schedules (weekends, holidays, etc.) as required.
- Ability to participate in and successfully pass behavioral intervention training, including both verbal de-escalation skills and physical skills techniques to be utilized with consumers as needed.
