Responsibilities:
- Manage all medical issues with direction from the RN and Physician.
- Ensure physician's orders are implemented.
- Maintain open communication with the physician and supervisor regarding client responses to treatment.
Requirements:
- A valid LPN license in the state of VA.
- At least one year of experience providing nursing services as an LPN or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
Skills and Qualities:
- Knowledge of physical health and intellectual disabilities principles, procedures, techniques, trends, and literature.
- Nursing best practices expertise.
- Ability to administer medications.
- Effective communication skills, both verbally and written.
- Ability to lift and transfer consumers up to 50-80 pounds.
- Physical assistance skills, including equipment use and safe lifting.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various locations.
