Job Overview
Horizon Bridge is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavior Technician (BT) to join our team. The BT will play a crucial role in providing high-quality behavioral therapy to children and individuals with behavioral health challenges. This position requires a strong understanding of patient care, medical documentation, and the ability to educate clients and their families about care plans and therapeutic techniques.
Duties
- Implement individualized treatment plans as directed by our Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
- Provide direct support to clients in center.
- Educate clients and their families on behavioral strategies and techniques to enhance learning and social skills.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Available Monday – Friday from 7:30am –4:00 pm
- Monitor client progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising BCBA.
- Assist in the development of care plans that address the unique needs of each client.
- Utilize knowledge of medical terminology to effectively communicate with healthcare professionals regarding patient care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
Requirements
- Experience working with children or individuals with behavioral health issues is preferred.
- Experience and a passion for working with children!
- Prior experience in the following areas has proven to be successful for RBTs: Childcare Provider, Nanny, Daycare Teacher, Teachers Assistant, SpEd Teacher, Special Education, Summer Camp Counselor, Swim Teacher, Coach, Mental Health Technician, Pediatric Therapist, Pediatric Nurse, ABA Therapist, Behavior Therapist, degree in Psychology
- Psychology degree helpful
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel and sit on the floor for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Ability to move quickly in response to patient needs
- Experience as an RBT is great but NOT required
- Familiarity with behavioral therapy techniques and patient care principles.
- Ability to educate clients and their families on care plans effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in medical terminology.
