What are the responsibilities and job description for the Internship Shadow Experience position at Horizon Corporations?
Internship description:
Under the supervision of Horizon personnel, our students will have the opportunity to shadow Horizon in July 2025! Within the shadow opportunity applicants will have the chance to shadow a residential facility in Sanborn, NY and an outpatient facility in Tonawanda, NY! The shadow experience will conclude with a celebratory luncheon at our Corporate Headquarters in Getzville, NY. The purpose of this shadow experience is for students to gain practical experience in their field of study.
Direct Experience opportunities may include, but are not limited to:
• Assist with intake and preparing pre-admission paperwork.
• Assist with providing crisis intervention and management.
• Co-facilitation of skills training groups.
• Assist with the preparation of treatment plans.
• Maintain clinical documentation as assigned.
• Organize and supervise patient urine screens to ensure samples are collected accurately.
• Assist in insurance authorizations.
• Assist with status updates, court reports, and the submission of the Department of Social Services reports.
• Perform filing and other administrative duties.

- July 15: Shadow an Outpatient Facility at 1376 Niagara Falls Blvd in Tonawanda, NY.
- July 16: Shadow our Horizon Village Residential Facility in Sanborn, NY.
OR
- July 22: Shadow an Outpatient Facility at 1376 Niagara Falls Blvd in Tonawanda, NY.
- July 23: Shadow our Horizon Village Residential Facility in Sanborn, NY.
OR
- July 29: Shadow an Outpatient Facility at 1376 Niagara Falls Blvd in Tonawanda, NY.
- July 30: Shadow our Horizon Village Residential Facility in Sanborn, NY.
The celebratory luncheon will be held on Tuesday August 5th from 12pm until 1pm at our Corporate Headquarters, 55 Dodge Road in Getzville, NY.
Qualifications:
Current enrollment in an Associate's or Bachelors Level program in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health or Substance Abuse Counseling, or other related Health and Human Services field required. This opportunity is open for students who do not need an internship for credit through their current university or college.
This internship is for the Summer 2025 semester.
