What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Office Front Desk Associate/Dental Assistant position at Horizon Dental Care & Implants?
GENERAL FUNCTION: This individual will oversee all clinical and non-clinical work for the dental office and ensure a first-class patient experience at all times. They will provide leadership for the office team, as well as provide oversight for all business aspects of the branch operation including budget, quality control, personnel management, safety and health and patient experience.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Patient Experience
- Ensures a positive patient experience by ensuring that the providers are running on time and addressing patients in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensures that all patient information is documented accurately, as well as updated and uploaded into Eaglesoft.
- Ensure patients understand financial payment options and arrange a payment schedule with patients if applicable.
- Ensure patients are checked out quickly and accurately after their appointments; ensure payment is collected for services and applied to patients account correctly,
- Ensure the office is clean at all times and the patient areas are fully stocked with necessary supplies, including the waiting room and bathroom.
Supply Ordering
- Monitor and maintain inventory of office supplies.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of dental supplies.
- Monitor and maintain dental parts & supplies for upcoming procedures.
Office Support
- Oversee the daily non-clinical operations of the office including patient satisfaction, revenue, profitability, team selection, performance, development and other business related functions.
- Provide superior patient service demonstrating effective responsiveness and sensitivity to patient needs. Do so with urgency and in accordance with company policies, government regulations and dental board standards.
- Collect co-payments and verify insurance coverage.
- Prepare new patient charts neatly and accurately.
- Professionally and accurately respond to patient billing or financial inquiries.
- Collect and post payments and record receipts.
- Balance nightly deposits and complete credit card processing.
- Conducts patient chart audits, ensure patients understand doctor prescribed treatment plans, review patient treatment plans at the direction of the treating Doctor, using the company operational system, and provide follow-up with patients during subsequent visits.
- Works with the Doctor and patient to ensure the patient completes the Doctor prescribed treatment plan; uncovers and removes all patient barriers for completing treatment; alerts the Doctor when the patient has clinical questions; educates the patient regarding insurance benefits and affordable payment options including third-party patient financing.
- Other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager and/or Clinical Director.
