Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Real Estate Financial Controller to oversee our financial operations and ensure the accuracy of our financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with experience in general ledger accounting, budgeting, and regulatory reporting. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity of our financial data and supporting strategic decision-making within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of the general ledger, including reconciliation and maintenance of accounts.
- Review tenant charges on a monthly and annual basis.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Oversee budgeting processes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Supervise accounts payable processes to ensure timely payments and accurate record-keeping.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that support business decisions.
- Lead audits by providing necessary documentation and addressing auditor inquiries.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Proven experience in general ledger reconciliation and general ledger accounting.
- Strong understanding of bank reporting requirements.
- Experience with budgeting processes and financial forecasting.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
