What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Services Rep position at Horizon Eye Care?
We are a well-established Ophthalmology practice that is growing again. We have a new position open for a Patient Services Rep.
The ideal candidate must be reliable, professional, able to multi-task, and have a passion for patient care. The position requires travel and flexible hours.
Some of the job responsibilities include for the following:
- Check patients In/Out, collect co-pays, verify insurance, and obtain authorizations.
- Professionally answer incoming calls, gather, verify and enter accurate demographic and insurance information into the EHR system.
- Answer patient inquiries about insurances, office hours, services, locations, exam fees, and other routine requests for information.
- Communicate with other departments.
- Triage patient calls and accurately document messages in patient chart.
Education/Knowledge
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience/Skills
- Prior experience in health care setting highly preferred. Minimum one year of customer service experience required.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, visitors, physicians, and staff.
- Ability to communicate with others in a courteous and professional manner, including ability to manage dynamic and potentially stressful patient encounters.
- Ability to keep pace with patient volume while performing multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Ability to effectively utilize all appropriate applications of software.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $1.00 per hour
