Job Description:
The Communications Systems Engineer Lead will perform a wide variety of professional communications engineering duties. This role involves research, planning, design, installation, modification, testing, technical support, and maintenance of state-of-the-art communication systems, including voice, microwave, radio, and data communications. Experience working within a military organization, preferably in air operations or air traffic control, with familiarly in Middle Eastern operations.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop advanced voiced data and radio communication systems that meet the operational requirements of the organization.
- Diagnosing and trouble shoot communication network issues, ensuring quick resolution to minimize downtime and disruption.
- Work closely with various teams and stakeholders to ensure communication needs are met effectively and efficiently.
- Evaluate, implement, and integrate new communication technologies, while also upgrading and optimizing existing systems.
- Maintain the security and integrity of communication systems by adhering to best practices and deploying appropriate security protocols.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including user manuals, network diagrams, and system specifications.
- Conduct network performance analysis, identify bottlenecks or issues, and propose solutions for optimization.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, (e,g., 5G, loT) and communication protocols to enhance system performance and capabilities.
- Offer ongoing technical support and perform regular maintenance to ensure communication systems function at optimal levels.
- Assess and select appropriate communication hardware and software to ensure the system meet operation needs and quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Communications or related technical field.
- 2 years of experience in communications engineering, preferably within a military organization (air operations or air traffic control experience is a significant advantage).
- Experience working in the Middle East is highly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with voice communication systems, including digital communication systems.
- Proficiency in satellite communications, fiber optic systems, and familiarity with 5G and loT technologies.
- Knowledge of military tactical data links ( LINK-16, TADIL-J, TADIl-A) VOIP, PBX, and network analysis tools.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead and manage tasks from inception to completion.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to trouble shoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Strong understanding of communication protocols, network architectures, and network performance analysis.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
