Job Description:
The Planning Systems Engineer Lead will develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules throughout the engineering design process for a variety of technical products. This role requires experience within military organizations, preferably in air operations or air traffic control, as well as familiarity with C4ISR technologies and systems.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, and maintain a detailed project schedule that spans the entire engineering design process, from initial planning through to product release.
- Support the Program Manage in overseeing the development, release delivery, and/or support of technical products, ensuring timely delivery using a multi-disciplinary framework.
- Work with Program Managers and customer representatives to define development strategies, product requirements, and identify potential operational issues.
- Prioritize the evolution of system capabilities and advancements in product architecture to meet productivity, quality and customer satisfaction goals.
- Manage a diverse team of engineers and technicians, ensuring alignment with project timelines, goals, and technical requirements.
- Interface with senior client officers and manage budget and resource allocation to ensure project goals are met.
- Develop and execute project and process plans and implement policies and procedures to achieve operational goals.
- Serve as the secondary point of contact for key internal and external stakeholders related to prime Mission Equipment (PME).
- Monitor, track, and report on product implementation, including timelines, budgets, issues, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Evaluate new standards and compliance requirements, conduct C4ISR modernization studies, system performance assessments, and capability gap analysis to inform product roadmap decisions.
- Collaborate across technical disciplines such as software design, networking, and wireless communications to ensure project goals are met.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in technical field (Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline).
- At least 2-3 years of experience within a military organization, preferably in air operations or air traffic control. Experience in the Middle East is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with C4ISR technologies, including command and control, communications, and intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance.
- Experience in project management, leading diverse teams of engineers and technicians, and managing client relations and budgets.
- Strong knowledge of networking, IP addresses, DNS, routers, switches, and military tactical data links (LINK-16, TADIL-J, TADIL-A) VOIP, and PBX systems.
- General understanding of hardware installation, power systems, and facilities management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders at various levels, including senior client officers.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively within a complex and evolving technical environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop project plans, set goals and monitor progress.
