Job Description
The person in this position will serve as point of contact for the team providing outreach to at-risk youth in Washington County. And for Youth participating Adolescent Clubhouse program at Horizon Goodwill Industries. In addition to providing outreach the person in this position will develop youth based programming, create opportunities for small group learning, as well as drop in activities for youth. This person will be responsible for fostering community partnerships to support the growth of Clubhouse. This person will be responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual Adolescent Clubhouse reporting.
Essential Functions
- Establish Unit programs, activities and services that prepare youth for success and create an outcome-driven Club experience that facilitates achievement of youth development outcomes.
- Ensure a healthy, safe environment, with well-maintained equipment and supplies.
- Plan, develop, implement and evaluate overall Unit programs, services and activities to ensure they meet stated objectives and member needs and interests. Compile regular reports reflecting all activities, attendance and participation.
- Oversee planning and coordination of outreach efforts to diverse segments of the community to determine community needs and interests for youth asset development and violence and prevention/intervention programming to gain support for the program goals and activities.
- Research evidence-based practices, interpret and present comparative data.
- Recruit, manage and provide career development opportunities for branch staff and volunteers. Conduct regular staff meetings.
- Implementation of the ENVY Strategic Plan
- Develop partnerships with parents, community leaders and organizations.
- Serve as point of contact for team members to make scheduling adjustments
- Identify opportunities for program growth and development
- Represent the Adolescent Clubhouse team on Workforce and Human Services Leadership Team.
- Serve as liaison for Adolescent Clubhouse team with other internal HGI Divisions
Education and Experience
- Knowledge of cultural and societal needs of the community
- Knowledge of procedures for planning, implementing and maintaining activities and programs through the community
- Degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability in personnel supervision and the recruitment and retention of key personnel
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to recruit, train, supervise and motivate staff
- Ability to deal effectively with members including discipline problems
- Working knowledge of budget preparation, control and management
- Demonstrated ability in working with young people, parents and community leaders.
