What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Baler position at Horizon Goodwill Industries?
Job Summary:
The baler is responsible for operating the baling machine, constructing bale of textiles, operating the forklift to move bales to the storage area and assist with loading bales to the salvage trucks.
Essential Functions:
- Produce bales of salvage textiles that are rectangular in shape, 6 in length, and have five pieces of wire on each bale.
- Check the quality of bales produced.
- Safely operate the forklift to move the bales of textiles into storage area as well as assist in loading bales onto trucks.
- Accurately weigh each bale produced.
- Correctly and efficiently load salvage trucks.
- Place Salvage from other regions and locations onto the salvage belt.
- Must have a proper understanding or able to learn how to operate and maintain the baler machine.
- Must be able to successfully complete the training to become a certified forklift operator.
- Able to follow directions from the supervisor on duty and handle a fast-paced environment.

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Forklift certified, preferred.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass pre-screenings such as background or drug screenings.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to fifty (75) lbs., with or without assistance.
