JOB SUMMARY:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations, timely reconciliation and reporting of financial statements and prepares financial analyses for the CFO and other key stakeholders as requested. The expectation of the Accounting Manager is to develop a thorough understanding of the organization’s accounting, finance and business processes in order to assume the role of Director of Accounting and Finances within 3 years.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Plan, direct and coordinate all accounting operational functions with constant improvement mindset; offer recommendations for improvement and implementing new process
- Perform timely and accurate month-end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations (e.g., net assets, investments, revenue, expenses, payroll allocations, etc.), ensuring that accounting schedules are updated and accurate.
- Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules, monitor assets to book appropriate gains/losses on disposal
- Ensuring proper revenue and expense recognition
- Prepare monthly internal and external financial statements and reports
- Analyzing variances in financial results compared to prior periods and budget
- Assisting the CFO and department managers with monthly financial reporting needs and ad hoc reporting requests
- Performing fiscal year-end close activities and assisting with activities and requirements of external auditors.
- Coordinate activity of external auditors
- Assist CFO in managing cash balances, forecasting cash flows, and preparing the annual budget and forecast updates during
- Establish, monitor and enforce internal controls to protect company assets
- Other duties assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS)
- Advanced use of MS Excel for data analysis to include pivot tables, vlookups, and graphs
- Strong analytical and reasoning abilities with superior numeric skills
- Must be detail oriented
- Ability to lead, organize, manage, and problem solve
- Ability to promote productive working relationships
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Possess strong ethical standards, honesty and integrity
- BS in Accounting or related field required
- CPA a plus
- Four or more years of work experience
Salary : $60,000 - $65,000
