Horizon Health and Subacute, a Generations Healthcare facility, is in search of an Administrator in Training, (AIT) to join our team. Our 180 bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility has an outstanding reputation in the healthcare industry with a high rating for quality patient care. Position Overview:
Under supervision by the Licensed Preceptor Administrator, the Administrator in Training position is responsible for completing the required training which results in directing the day-to-day functions of the facility in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern nursing facilities to assure that the highest quality care and services are provided. This includes compliance with regulatory standards, financial sustainability, and the support of the Generations Healthcare's mission and operating philosophy.
Essential Functions:
- Serves as a role model for our Mission, Vision and Operating Philosophy
- Completes regular, onsite training to understand the multiple operations within a nursing facility to include spending a designated and regular amount of time training and understanding the policies, procedures and processes within each department of the facility.
- Acts as a liaison between the nursing facility, residents, families and outside community
- Compiles and develops reporting on budget projections, revenue and expenses
- Ensures all employees, residents and families are treated with the utmost respect
- Actively involved in community groups and developing/maintaining relationships with local hospital leadership and physicians
• Monitors industry regulations, laws, compliance updates and makes changes as appropriate • Uses time effectively to study for both Federal and State regulations and comes to a sound understanding of industry best practices
- Understands staffing level requirements and adheres to industry and company standards
- Assists in monitoring and directing execution of policy and procedural changes
- Actively involved in, and partners with Support Center HR to investigate and resolve HR issues and Risk Management situations within the facility
- Assists in capital improvements
- Participates in Advisory committees
- Assists in all safety programs
- Develops and maintains a stellar reputation within the industry and community
- Develops relationships with the Support Center (HR/Payroll/Accounting/AR/AP/Clinical) to assist with meeting/exceeding goals
- Assists in contract negotiations with vendors under the direction of the Preceptor.
- Supports Clinical efforts by understanding QA measures and holding people accountable.

• Coordinates, researches, and completes miscellaneous projects as needed.

Education and Experience
- Experience in a business setting with a strong leadership background, preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related discipline;
OR
- Have ten years of full-time work experience in any department of a skilled nursing facility, an intermediate care facility, or an intermediate care facility/developmentally disabled with at least 60 semester units (or 90 quarter units) of college or university courses. At least the most recent five years of the 10 years of work experience shall be in a position as a department manager;
OR
- Have a doctorate degree in medicine and a current valid license as a physician and surgeon
OR
- Have ten years of full-time work experience and a current valid license as a registered nurse. At least the most recent five years of the 10 years of work experience shall be in a supervisory or director of nursing position
OR
• Have ten years of full-time hospital administration experience in an acute care hospital with at least 60 semester units (or 90 quarter units) of college or university courses. At least the most recent five years of the 10 years of work experience shall be in a supervisory position.
