Position Summary & Qualifications
FULL AND PART-TIME OPPORTUNITIES!
We are looking for compassionate individuals eager to make a difference in the lives of others. This role involves providing direct care services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As a Direct Support Professional, you will guide community integration and inclusion, interact with families and significant others, and support individuals in participating in community activities. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of residents through proper supervision.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- HS diploma or GED
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Possess a valid Arizona driver’s license with an acceptable driving record, MVD report, and reliable transportation.
- Ability to prepare required paperwork to support and document activities in the contractually required timelines.
- Ability to type and working knowledge/familiarity with computers and electronic clinical record keeping.
- Obtain and pass post tests for First Aid, CPR, Article 9, Medication, and Prevention/Support Certification, DCW and any other required training. Agency will provide training if candidate does not possess.
- Able to operate independently with minimal oversight.
- Demonstrated skills to ensure respectful communication to participants and coworkers.
- Must obtain and maintain a fingerprint clearance card and pass a background check.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays and a varied schedule each week.
- Willingness to cross-train and work at different locations in the area as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
- Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Sign Language.
- Prior experience in Habilitation or Rehabilitation.
- Associate's degree in the field.
- Two years of experience in a person-centered community integration program assisting persons with developmental and/or psychiatric disabilities.
- Two years of experience in habilitation/rehabilitative assistance to persons with psychiatric and/or developmental disabilities.
- Very strong interpersonal skills.
- Good communication skills.
