Horizon Health in any Horizon location is seeking a full-time Dental Assistant Learning and Development Coordinator. The Dental Assistant Learning and Development Coordinator oversees the onboarding and training schedule of new dental assistants, including acting as the primary or secondary trainer. The role will focus on sterilization and infection control practices, equipment maintenance, and assisting the dentist on routine patient care, instruments, supplies and materials. In coordination with the Dental Informatics Specialist, will assist with training on electronic dental record, x-ray imaging, and other platforms or software an assistant will use throughout the day. This position will collaborate with Dental Support Team members to build and implement a comprehensive and supportive training program for dental assistants, including but not limited to workflow development, quality improvement, and team building efforts. Successful candidates for the position should be passionate about providing high-quality, patient centered care. Key Responsibilities:
- Tracking and maintaining documentation and records related to staff trainings in an organized and retrievable process.
- Communicating with Dental Support Team and/or Dental Operations Manager with appropriate documentation related to concerns, re-training, and/or corrective action.
- Preparing training materials and training schedules prior to onboarding and during orientation period.
