REHAB PATIENT SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

Horizon Health is a Critical Access, Rural Health Facility comprised of 25-inpatient beds located in Paris, IL & a multitude of outpatient clinic settings including Family Practice and Specialty Clinics in Paris and surrounding cities. Position Summary:

The Rehabilitation Patient Services Representative initiates the process of any patient who is to receive treatment in rehabilitation services as prescribed by his/her physician. He/she is responsible for keeping the everyday operation of clerical duties within the department of rehabilitation services in working order, including order management, registrations, and ensuring compliance with plan of cares being signed off appropriately.

Essential Functions (Responsibilities/Accountabilities):

• Demonstrates proficiency and accuracy in taking physician orders, scheduling, screening of patients, and order entry.
• Demonstrates a complete understanding of established policies and procedures within the
• department.
• Participates in training students, volunteers and new employees as needed.
• Demonstrates the flexibility to adjust schedule in response to "STAT" orders and fluctuations in patient load.
• Demonstrates the ability to schedule and give instructions for preparation of exams for patients of all ages and in all aspects of rehab.
• Demonstrates knowledge of filing and order entry with minimal errors.
• Demonstrates good telephone etiquette and responds quickly to incoming calls and utilizes
• professionalism in interacting and responding with all staff, departments and providers.
• Demonstrates the ability to put in manual charges as needed.
• Demonstrates the ability to order supplies and inventory for the office area.
• Demonstrates a positive image of our department/hospital as a compassionate organization at all times in dealing with the public.
• Works well with supervisor and others in a position of authority.
• Provides direction and/or assistance to patients, families, and visitors in a courteous and
• positive manner.
• Interacts with rehabilitation services staff, physicians, and nurses in a positive manner.
• Demonstrates high regard for mission, vision, values commitment to my co-worker standards and behavioral standards.

The responsibilities listed above are not all-inclusive; other activities may be required in support of the hospital’s goals and objectives.

Position Requirements:

• High School Graduate or Equivalent
• Familiarity with medical terminology and medical office/hospital procedures
• Current CPR Certification, preferred
• Excellent clerical, time management, prioritizing work load and computer skills
• Demonstrates professionalism and interactions with all staff, patients and visitors

Position Information:

Location: 721 E. Court Street Paris, IL 61944

Hours: Monday- Thursday 9am-530pm, Friday 830am-5pm

Pay Range:

Pay ranges from $15.250/hour to $20.979/hour (rate of pay is based on applicable years of experience)
