Are you passionate about early childhood education and supporting families? Horizon Hills Parenting Program is seeking an Infant-Toddler Parenting Instructor to lead engaging, research-based parenting classes for families with children ages 6 months to 2 years.
Position Overview:
As an Infant-Toddler Parenting Instructor, you will facilitate interactive classes that parents and children attend together, fostering early childhood development and strengthening parent-child relationships. This role involves guiding discussions, providing parenting education, and creating a supportive learning environment for both parents and young children.

- Pay Rate: $31.91 - $40.77 per hour

- School Calendar: Classes run from the last week of August to the last week of May, following the CVUSD school year calendar.
Qualifications:
✔ 24 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units or Master Teacher Child Development Permit✔ One of the following:
- Multiple Subject Teaching Credential
- Single Subject Teaching Credential
- Adult Education Teaching Credential
- 3 or more years of specialized job experience in parenting education or early childhood development and a willingness to complete an Adult Education Teaching Credential program
- Experience coaching parents or working as a parent educator
- Training or experience in conflict resolution or nonviolent communication (or willingness to learn)
Key Responsibilities:Classroom Instruction & Engagement
- Create and implement a daily lesson plan for infants or toddlers that includes age-appropriate art, STEM, fine motor, gross motor activities, and sensory experiences.
- Facilitate age-appropriate parent discussions on child development, behavior guidance, and family communication.
- Lead interactive activities that promote bonding between parents and their children.
- Conduct a parent discussion daily with accompanying handouts.
- Ensure clear and timely communication of school-wide events to families.
- Manage classroom budgeting and accounting of supplies and materials, including tracking expenses, submitting receipts, and maintaining an organized ledger.
- Attend staff meetings and additional professional development, including the parenting workshops offered on campus.
Program & Community Engagement
- Promote the class and help recruit students to maintain enrollment.
- Provide a printed and emailed quarterly calendar of events.
- Potentially utilize an online classroom environment for parents to access supplemental materials.
- Represent the program and attend select whole-school campus events in the evening throughout the school year.
