What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Programmer/Setup position at Horizon Hydraulics?
Responsibilities:
- Read technical drawings and set up the machines in accordance with these blueprints
- Use computer software to model cutting paths and program machines accordingly
- Perform quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications
- Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality
- Consider tools required to cut particular materials and program machines accordingly
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems with machines as they arise
- Perform basic machine maintenance such as cleaning and sharpening
- Train new employees on how to properly operate CNC machines and programs
Required Knowledge and Skills:
· High School Diploma or GED Required
· Solid knowledge of G-Codes, M-Codes, and editing Required
· Ability to obtain a personal set of required tools within 2 weeks of employment
· Experience in handling all size components and proficient in precision measuring instruments using Calipers, Depth Mics, DD Mics, Bore Gauges, etc.
· Strong Analytical and Math Skills Required
· Fanuc 21Ti - 31Ti Lathe controls experience/knowledge
· Haas Pre-NGC controls experience/knowledge
· Solidworks / Master Cam or Fusion 360 / Autodesk - Lathe and Mill experience/knowledge
· Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints and GDT
· Ability to work independently and closely follow directions is essential
· Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving mechanical or logistical problems that arise
· Capable of standing for extended periods of time
· Available to work weekends and overtime
· Excellent communication and eagerness to learn
· Ability to lift/push/pull more than 50 pounds.
Desired Knowledge and Skills:
· Familiarity with Fluid Power a plus
· 3-4 years Prior Experience
