What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Coordinator position at Horizon Project, Inc.?
The Residential Coordinator manages aspects of 24-hour support services to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities (ID/D) in group homes and supported living settings. You will assist with training, supervising, and scheduling Direct Support Professionals who provide hands-on support services to our clients. Services include, but are not limited to: housekeeping, cleaning, bathing, cooking, transportation, and medication administration. Coordinators are also expected to be able to perform Direct Support Professional tasks. You will also ensure the development and implementation of the client's Individual Support Plans (ISP) and assure compliance with state Licensing rules.
Monthly Salary: $4,178 per month, D.O.E. (Full-time, exempt)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8AM-4PM with on-call responsibilities
Job Duties
- MEDICAL: Administer client medications, monitor for accurate dispensing of medication, assure accuracy of medical documentation, properly dispose of excess medication, respond to medical emergencies, and contact healthcare professionals as needed.
- FINANCIAL: Maintain accurate client financial records, monitor client accounts for "spend downs", monitor reimbursement for grocery and activity accounts
- SAFETY & PROGRAMMING: Adhere to Mandatory Abuse Reporting rules, conduct safety/fire/evacuation drills, understand the Individual Support Plan (ISP) system and help develop client ISPs, Performs on-call responsibilities as assigned
- SUPERVISOR: assure adequate staffing at assigned programs and works shifts if unable to find cover, trains New Hire DSPs, reviews and submits timesheets for biweekly payroll, addresses performance and discipline matters with direct reports, spends time in assigned programs to monitor quality of service and provide direct feedback to staff.
- ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Attends manager meetings, schedules and conducts staff meetings, cooperates regarding changes in schedule, location, and routine, adheres to rules regarding document storage and archiving.

- Must have previous supervisory experience (6 months or more) managing 5 or more employees.
- Must pass pre-employment screenings - drug test, driving records check, background check
- Must be over the age of 18
- Must have a valid driver's license that is insurable by HPI's auto insurance provider (driving required position)
- Successful completion of organized in-service training provided by employer, as well as on-the-job training as assigned.
- Preferred: Prior experience in caregiving, healthcare, intellectual and developmental disability services, or related fields.
Physical Demands
Physical demands of the job include constantly (2/3 or more of the time) moving from location to location – such as when you are providing training and providing direct supports to client as necessary,
Work Environment
This is primarily an office job; however, it will involve interaction with intellectually and/or developmentally disabled individuals which can result in physical contact and/or verbal exchanges.
