Elementary Teacher (3-5 Grades)

Teaching Responsibilities: Support the school's mission, philosophies, values, goals, and policies toward students, parents/guardians and coworkers. Knowledge of 3-5 grade standards and strategies to effectively teach standards. Assure student understanding of classroom rules and procedures and assist students by answering questions, providing proper examples, emotional support, friendly attitude and general guidance. Design and effectively deliver developmentally appropriate curriculum and instruction which reflects observations and goals of individual children. Observe and control behavior of students in the classroom according to approved procedures, monitor students during outdoor activities as directed, become familiar with student IEP goals and report progress regarding student performance and behavior to supervising teacher. Interact frequently and respectfully with students and adults. Skills: Attention to detail Receptive to feedback and desire to grow professionally Has the work ethic and desire to go above and beyond Highly organized Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree A valid OH teaching aide certificate/license or being in the process of obtaining a valid OH teaching aide certificate/license is preferred; however, it will train the right candidate. Horizon Science Academy Elementary is a charter school on Morse Road for students in 3rd-5th grades. Note: ( Elementary School, 4th Grade English Language Arts, Social Studies Teacher, Classroom Teacher, ELA, Social Studies, Teaching, Math, Science) Pay: The starting salary for this position is $48,000, with the potential for salary increases based on years of experience and possession of relevant licenses.
