Position requirements:
Teaching Responsibilities:
- Support the school's mission, philosophies, values, goals, and policies toward students, parents/guardians and coworkers
- Know and apply elements of design and modern principles of art
- Design and effectively deliver developmentally appropriate curriculum and instruction which reflects observations and goals of individual children
- Establish a classroom culture of high expectations
- Instruct students in proper care and use of tools and equipment, organize storage areas and control the use of materials, equipment and tools to prevent loss or abuse, and to minimize the time required for distribution and collection
- Share best practices with other teachers and collaborate with them to improve instructional and assessment practices
- Facilitate regular parent/guardian communications and conferences to discuss student progress
- Participate in teacher-based teams to analyze data and adapt instruction to impact student learning.
- Utilize reflective practices to improve instructional approaches and adapt to changes in learning methods.
- Maintain an organized, attractive and safe classroom environment
- Have an understanding of PBIS strategies or willingness to learn
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and other stakeholders
- Participation in annual art exhibition and regional art show(s)

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree
- Valid OH teaching certificate/license
Compensation & Benefits:
Compensation packages are competitive and commensurate with experience. Horizon Science Academy offers a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision, life and disability coverage. Employees participate in Ohio STRS (state retirement system). Tuition Reimbursement available up to 4K per year.
