Teaching Responsibilities:
- Support the school's mission, philosophies, values, goals, and policies toward students, parents/guardians and coworkers.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive physical education curriculum aligned with state standards.
- Teach students fundamental movement skills, sports, and fitness activities that encourage lifelong physical activity.
- Promote teamwork, cooperation, and respect through structured games and activities.
- Ensure student safety by maintaining proper supervision and enforcing safety protocols.
- Assess and track student progress, providing feedback and encouragement.
- Collaborate with other staff to integrate physical activity into the school culture.
- Organize and lead school-wide wellness initiatives, field days, or extracurricular activities.Design and effectively deliver developmentally appropriate curriculum and instruction which reflects observations and goals of individual children.
- Establish a classroom culture of high expectations
- Facilitate regular parent/guardian communications and conferences to discuss student progress.
- Maintain an organized, attractive and safe classroom environment
- Have an understanding of PBIS strategies or willingness to learn
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and other stakeholders
- Highly qualified in content area
- Uses data to drive instruction
- Receptive to feedback and desire to grow professionally
- Has the work ethic and desire to go above and beyond
- Highly organized
- Bachelor's degree or Master's Degree
- Valid OH teaching certificate/license or must be in the process of obtaining a valid OH teaching certificate/license in subject area to be taught
- Compensation packages are competitive and commensurate with experience. Horizon Science Academy offers a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision, life and disability coverage. Employees participate in Ohio STRS (state retirement system). Tuition Reimbursement available up to $4,000 per year.
Salary : $45,000 - $60,000
