The reason I love my position as a counselor at Horizon is the chaos. Coming into work every day and dealing with the fast paced uncertainty of treating people in crisis is continually exciting and every day holds new experiences. This has taught me to think on my feet as a counselor and to be able to adapt and overcome any situation. The other great thing about working in residential treatment, is being able to see the same patients every day for weeks at a time. Instead of leaving a session and saying, ‘we will come back to this in 2 weeks’, I can leave a session and say to a patient, ‘journal about that tonight and we can talk in the morning.’ ”

Location :
Conveniently located on Elm Street in downtown Buffalo, Terrace House is a 68-bed facility offering stabilization and medically-supervised detox treatment. We provide twenty-four hour care to adults who need support, counseling, observation, nursing, and medical care to achieve initial stabilization from drug and / or alcohol withdrawal.
Hours :
This position is full-time, Tuesday - Saturday with two evening shifts required.
Compensation :
Horizon is consistently evaluating our compensation and benefit packages to ensure we remain competitive. The range of pay for this position is $50,960 - $62,296. Starting pay may be impacted based on experience and education. There is also a 15% pay differential for weekend hours worked. Compensation adjustments are evaluated annually.
