What is the compensation for this position?

Pay is based on several factors including market location, qualifications, skills, and experience.


  • Base salary:  $80k
  • On target earnings (OTE):  $215k-332k

What will you do?

You will be responsible for new customer acquisition with the broad goal of driving revenue growth.  To do this, you will focus on working leads generated from Marketing efforts and passed along from our Channel program.  You will also conduct outbound prospecting to identify and contact prospects that fit HorizonIQ’s ideal customer profile (ICP).  In this role, you will:


  • Meet or exceed sales targets by managing a robust pipeline in HubSpot.
  • Create prospect lists based on HorizonIQ’s ICP and conduct outbound prospecting via email, phone, and LinkedIn.  You will define a prospecting strategy that is not simply spray and pray, but is customized to the uniqueness of each prospect.
  • Be tenacious about following up with leads coming from our Channel and Marketing activities with the goal of maximizing the conversion of leads into customers.
  • Build relationships with prospects who are not ready to buy yet to increase the likelihood of future sales.
  • Identify and attend key industry events where discussions with key decision makers can happen.
  • Draft and manage sales proposals, RFPs, and contracts in collaboration with legal and finance teams.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Team to create talking points and external collateral to facilitate discussions with prospects.
  • Collaborate with the Product Team to provide feedback and areas for improvement within our product portfolio.
  • Work closely with our Procurement team to identify where we can collaborate with strategic partners in co-marketing and joint selling.
  • Monitor and regularly report to senior management on the progress of new customer acquisition activity.

  • You have at least 5 years of sales/account executive experience with a proven track record of new revenue creation and consistent quota attainment.
  • You have a keen ability to identify prospect pain points by asking probing questions during initial discussions.
  • You will build a solid understanding of HorizonIQ’s service portfolio and use this knowledge to propose solutions that address prospect pain points.
  • Understand broader trends in the IT infrastructure space and leverage those trends along with individual customer pain points to customize outreach messaging.
  • You are tenacious and do not easily take no for an answer.
  • You are meticulous in tracking opportunities and have a deep understanding of the metrics that are indicative of a healthy sales pipeline.
  • An ability to work autonomously.  While you’ll receive plenty of support and clear goals to strive for, the person in this role needs to be proactive and self-sufficient.
  • Strong time management skills with an ability to prioritize tasks and meet sales target consistently.
  • You are gritty.  You do the small things that, over time, result in new revenue creation.
  • Effective communications skills as you will be interacting with a wide variety of individuals including company executives, customers, CS/Sales colleagues, third party partners, and more. 
  • Not afraid to share your opinions but also open to changing your opinions when presented with other information and/or viewpoints.
  • An ability to travel to industry events and customer meetings as needed.


What will make you standout?


  • Previous experience in the IaaS industry with knowledge about private cloud and bare metal server products.  Knowledge about the data center colocation business is a bonus.
  • Previous experience using HubSpot to create prospect lists and tracking your sales pipeline.
  • Previous experience using the latest AI sales tools to maximize conversion rates.
  • Established customer list that you can tap into to drive sales.


What will you be able to accomplish?

This is a highly visible role that offers considerable growth opportunities which will allow you to:


  • Shape HorizonIQ’s outbound sales strategy.
  • Play a large factor in revenue growth for 2025 and beyond.
  • Work internally to craft HorizonIQ’s message to prospects that fit our ICP.
  • Provide feedback to the Product and Marketing Teams about how our services and messaging resonate with the market.  Work closely with those teams to continuously optimize messaging leading to higher conversion rates.
  • Present to HorizonIQ executives on the state of new customer acquisition.


Who will you work with?


  • SVP, Head of Product, Marketing, and New Sales – you will report to this person.  They are a member of the senior leadership team.
  • Sr. Marketing Manager – responsible for coordination of marketing activities.
  • Global Partnerships Manager – responsible for generating leads through partner/channel organizations.
  • CEO – provide updates on the state of new sales activity.


 What does the interview process look like?


  • Initial phone screen with HR (30 minutes).
  • Video interview with hiring manager (45 minutes).
  • Video interview with the CEO (45 minutes).
  • Final interview with the hiring manager (30 minutes).
