Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation of medication administration.
- Support clients in social interactions and community engagement, fostering relationships and promoting social skills.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs, preferences, and goals.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Advocate for resident rights and ensure that clients are treated with dignity and respect.
- Provide assistance with mobility and heavy lifting when necessary to support client needs.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote cognitive function, including those with dementia care needs.
- Document client progress and any changes in behavior or condition accurately in reports.
Requirements
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required to assist clients effectively.
- Strong understanding of resident rights and advocacy for individuals with disabilities.
- Experience in meal preparation or cooking for individuals with specific dietary needs is beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others achieve their best quality of life.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed to accommodate client schedules.
