We are seeking applicants for a part time after school/summer internship in Welding. Horizontal Boring & Tunneling Co. was established in 1982. Job duties for the Welding Internship:
- Assist experienced welders in various welding and fabrication projects
- Learn and adhere to welding techniques and safety standards
- Operate welding equipment under supervision and conduct basic maintenance
- Prepare materials for welding, including cutting and cleaning
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Support the team troubleshooting issued
- Become familiar with weld shop facility and pipe yard, learning what our company does as a specialized contractor in the trenchless industry
- Possible field work to assist crew with welding projects
- Process pipe, cut/weld to appropriate lengths for specific projects
- Use beveling machine, magnetic cutters, welders, plasma machine, and cutting torch
