What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineer position at Horizontal Talent?
Our client is seeking a dedicated and innovative Engineer to join their team. This role offers a hybrid schedule, with the team convening onsite most Wednesdays and during core weeks. The successful candidate will support the Enterprise Inventory team, developing insights into the application architecture, and applying software engineering patterns to build robust and scalable systems.
Key Responsibilities :
Develop and influence the application architecture
Propose software designs and provide feedback on designs and implementation
Triage operational issues and leverage expertise to eliminate repeat occurrences
Build new features and functions on existing services
Write consumers and producers to Kafka
Ensure all code remains highly testable and maintains high test coverage
Support the product through on-call activities
Build awareness on operational processes like change management practices, deployment practices, and communications
Required Skills and Experience :
10 years of experience in a similar role
Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, Micronaut, Kafka, Postgres, and Mongo
Experience in highly scalable distributed systems
Experience working on JVM stacks, specifically on Kotlin, Spring boot
Preferred Skills :
Familiarity with Elastic (ELK stack), Grafana, Influx, and Rocks DB
