What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at Hormann Group North America?
Major Responsibilities/Activities:
- Receive incoming shipments, verify quantities, and inspect for damages.
- Compare packing slips with purchase orders to ensure accuracy.
- Document and report any discrepancies or damages to the supervisor.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Store materials in designated locations using appropriate equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper labeling of materials.
- Implement and adhere to FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory practices.
- Use of scanners and computers to communicate production order status
- Transport materials to production areas or other designated locations as needed.
- Pick and pack orders for shipment or internal distribution.
- Load and unload trucks and other vehicles.
- Provide feedback for process improvement opportunities that would enhance safety, productivity, or efficiency.
- Maintain and improve area cleanliness to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
- Ability to flex into other work areas as needed
- Must be willing to work overtime when needed.
Minimum Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems.
- Prioritization and organization skills
- Ability to use hand tools
- Forklift certification
