Job Summary: The Product Development Manager - Sectional Doors North America is responsible for business product planning as well as execution throughout the life cycle of the products and business. Create the product strategy and requirements, develop, and execute tactical plans as well as maintain product and market knowledge. This may involve conducting market research to better understand product demand and coordinating with engineering, marketing, and sales directors. May also create long-term roadmaps to outline the vision and goals for product development.
Major Responsibilities/Activities:
- Define product strategy and requirements.
- Refined understanding of managing cost-mark up and list-discounts/factors.
- Understand and participate in product design, manufacturing, distribution, and marketing of product from concept to launch.
- Coordinates and participate in product sales training for customers, internal and external.
- Project and assess the likelihood of success of products and their relationship to current offerings prior to launch.
- Monitor product goals and discuss with fellow Directors how to achieve success and sustainability.
- Be the channel expert on features, benefits, product performance and design guidelines for Hörmann products.
- Updates customers on new products and changes as they occur.
- Develop core positioning and messaging for the product.
- Conducts demonstrations (i.e., Lunch and Learn) of products and new features to prospective clients.
- Coordinates with national accounts, strategic accounts, sales leadership, and other sales team members to assist in expanding product opportunities within the sales territory.
- Provides market and competitive intelligence to Hörmann leadership.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Business, or related field
- A minimum of 5 years in a management, marketing, or sales management role in the same or similar industry (in a business-to-business environment preferred)
- Experience in the garage door industry.

- Proper lifting techniques are required. May include lifting up to 50 pounds for door displays, parts, and related items.
