What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Support Representative position at HORMANN LLC?
Technical duties will include, but not limited to:
- Develop, diagnose and update parameter settings for the efficient operation of controllers and operators for high speed/performance doors and production equipment.
- Develop and document wiring diagrams in AutoCAD.
- Support Sales with special applications and programming of logic controllers when required.
- Liaise with European engineering group to ensure product support in the US market.
- Work closely with mechanical/electrical engineers and production management.
- Strong electrical/mechanical troubleshooting, evaluation and report writing.
- Provide technical support to the existing door population in the field as required via phone and e-mail communication. Both interactive with door dealers and end users.
- Train Regional Sales Managers, dealers, customers when required.
- Assist/lead in Dealer/Installer in-house training sessions when required.
- Occasional travel in the field to troubleshoot a problem(s).
Required Experience and Skills
- At least 3 years’ experience as a Service Technician in an industrial assembly operation or equivalent.
- Knowledge of electrical principles including VFD and PLC controllers.
- Strong mechanical skills.
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office to create BOM’s, spreadsheet, etc. AutoCAD familiarity a must. SAP & Salesforce a plus.
- Experience managing others a plus.
- German/Spanish speaking a plus.
- Able to occasionally travel overseas a plus.
- Strong customer service/communication skills are a requirement.
