What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at Hormann North America?
Major Responsibilities/Activities:
- Develops and implements production schedules, monitors progress, and adjusts plans as needed to meet deadlines and optimize resource utilization.
- Leads and motivates a team of production workers, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback.
- Ensures adherence to quality standards and procedures, conducts inspections, and investigates and resolves quality issues
- Oversees the warehouse management process to ensure procedures are adhered to.
- Identifies ways to reduce completion times of annual inventory initiatives.
- Maintains a safe and compliant work environment by enforcing safety regulations, conducting safety training, and investigating accidents.
- Oversees the maintenance and repair of production equipment, ensuring proper functioning and minimizing downtime.
- Monitors inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to ensure adequate supply and minimize waste.
- Identifies opportunities for process improvement, implements lean manufacturing principles, and drives 5S initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Effectively communicates with other departments (e.g., engineering, quality control, maintenance) to ensure smooth production flow and address any challenges.
- Act as backup for supervisor in other areas
Minimum Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Production Supervisor, or similar role.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and inventory control principles.
- Proficiency in using relevant software (e.g., ERP systems (preferably SAP, office suite).
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Commitment to safety and quality.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
