Wash/Disinfect Crew
Full Time – Hourly
- Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States
- Applicants must not now, or any time in the future, require sponsorship for an employment visa.
Job Responsibilities
- To wash and disinfect turkey production facilities in a safe and organized manner, ensuring that all company policies are followed
- Assist all support areas of breeder production
- Work occasional weekends washing unless otherwise instructed
- Perform repairs, maintenance on equipment, and construction on projects as assigned by supervisor
- Follow sanitation and isolation procedures using tracking patterns
- Follow safety policies and procedures as recommended
- Communicate with supervisor on a regular basis to receive work orders as needed
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Assist on vaccinations and insemination occasionally when not washing
Minimum Qualifications
- Basic math skills/able to read and write at 4th grade level
- Able to work scheduled weekends and holidays
- Supply reliable transportation for travel to work sites and meet all sanitation requirements
- Cannot own or raise any type of fowl (i.e. turkeys, chickens, geese, pheasants, parakeets, etc.)
- Able to work in a smoke free environment/Must be 21 yrs. old and able to obtain a Medical Card
- Must possess a valid driver's license & able to meet JOTS driving qualifications
- PHYSICAL: Work in a dusty environment with ammonia present in all weather conditions while using approved respiratory protection
- Facial hair must not compromise respirator face to mask seal-no beards
- Twisting/stooping/bending/squat/reach while handling turkeys/fee/letter/equipment 10 lbs. to 50 lbs. from occasionally to a frequent basis
- Able to work on uneven surfaces
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous animal husbandry experience and/or a farm background (two years)
- Bobcat tractor experience
- Able to use and operate high pressure washer
- Small engine/pump repair experience
- Able to operate a scissor lift
