What are the responsibilities and job description for the Jennie-O Turkey Store - Shipping Operator, 1st Shift - Montevideo, MN position at Hormel Foods Family of Companies?
12 Hour Shifts 3-4 shifts/week alternating weekends
Enjoy working full-time in a state-of-the-art processing plant. We are currently accepting applications for general production workers on our evening shift.
Job Responsibilities
1. Pull product from finished goods cooler and load onto trucks.
2. Move trailers in lot.
3. Update inventories.
4. Slot pallets.
5. Receive product.
6. Inventory coolers.
7. Work with shipping logistics -- i.e., contacting traffic to set up trucks.
8. Work in dry goods warehouse.
9. Dispense chemicals as needed.
10. Perform general housekeeping.
11. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Self motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision, and decision making capabilities.
2. Fluent in English language with good verbal and written communication skills.
3. Computer skills, including email.
4. Ability to multitask and schedule day amongst constant changes.
5. Able to lift 50 pounds.
6. Ability to work in refrigerated environment, 32-40 degrees.
7. Ability to acquire a forklift license and operate forklift.
8. Ability to learn to operate manual transmission for shag truck.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating forklift
- Previous experience operating shag truck and backing up trailers
