What are the responsibilities and job description for the Burke - Packroom Laborer OV1-1 position at Hormel Foods?
Packroom Laborer
1st Shift: 6:30am to 4:30pm, Monday thru Friday, Weekends as Production Scheduled Requires
Pay: $21.34
- Performing repetitive tasks associated with the packaging of meat product: Workstations include: Inspecting product quality, assembling boxes, filling bags with meat, putting bags of meat into boxes, putting labels on boxes, sealing bags, weighing bags and stacking boxes on pallets.
- Assist with the coordination and running of a food processing line. Must be able to work at a fast pace.
- Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all production areas, including equipment, machinery, walls, floors and ceilings.
All team members must abide by all of Burke’s plant safety rules!
Requirements of the production team member include:
- Ability to learn and perform multiple positions (Training will be provided)
- Work in temperatures 40–50 degrees and 32 degrees in the cooler
- Being able to operate an electric pallet jack (In-house training provided)
- Ability to work in an environment that is fast paced
- Being able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to do repetitive tasks
- Standing, walking, pushing, lifting, bending, stepping up and down
- Operating food processing equipment
- Following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
- Fill in for other plant positions as necessary (Additional pay provided for higher pay grade position)
- Basic Math skills
- Perform any and all duties as assigned by Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 18 years or older
- 6 months of work history
